Happy Friday!  I hope you guys are having a wonderful day and looking forward to a fun weekend. I am taking the afternoon off from work today and while I don’t have any specific plans, I’m looking forward to a relaxing afternoon whether that means reading, cooking or getting a much needed manicure. Thank you so much for the support, warm words and comments on yesterday’s post.  Anytime a topic weighs on my mind for more than a few days, it’s worth sharing with you guys.

Now, let’s dive into this week’s edition of Friday Favorites, including recipes, articles, posts and other things that caught my eye this week.

  • You guys know I love workouts that can be done anywhere. This workout took me just five minutes and was a great way to wake my body up this morning. It can easily be doubled, tripled or squeezed in on a busy day.
  • Amanda’s latest post answers a question I’ve pondered many times before a workout or run.
  • Speaking of pre-workout fuel, I’ve been sipping and enjoying Vega’s Clean Energy  before outdoor workouts this Summer. Do you sip on anything before runs or workouts?
  • My how tastes and trends in food have changed over the years – some like fajitas and sushi have stood the test of time but others were definitely a short-lived fad.
  • Over the years I’ve tried hundreds of different banana bread recipes but this one is still the favorite among my family and friends when we are looking for a flavorful, moist traditional banana bread. It is the perfect base for mix-ins ranging from chocolate chips to toasted pecans.
  • It’s no secret that peaches are this Georgia girl’s favorite fruit and during the Summer months I do my best to include them in every meal. I happen to have everything needed for this salad recipe and am already dreaming of serving it tonight along side our grilled snapper.
  • I did these post-run yoga poses on Tuesday and swear it’s the reason my body wasn’t sore following the hilly run.  Now, if only I could push myself to do them after every run I am sure my body would be very thankful.
  • I love the final sentence in this interesting and very relevant article – “But no matter how much you train in the heat, it will never be easy, athletes and researchers say. So perhaps the best strategy is to just accept discomfort and slowness.”

What are your plans for the weekend?
