Hi,

I went to the Fitness Magazine meet and tweet earlier this month and am working on writing a post for our blog about the event. We downloaded the photos from the drop box and wanted to mention the sponsors as well as the bloggers and link to their blogs. Their was a funny pic of the blogger standing next to you here http://www.healthyhappierbear.com/2012/05/10/share-your-marathon-story/ trying the V8 smoothie. I remembered meeting her early on but can’t remember her name. Do you remember what her name is or what blog she writes for. I know it was a running blog out of Washington D.C.

Ashley,

I just read your tips for the Philly Marathon…great post with great info. Thanks! I’ve recently gotten back into the running world and have signed up for my first marathon (the Philadelphia Marathon). I am full of question and concerns, searching for guidance from anywhere and everyone. The one bit of advice I have been looking for recently is when to arrive at the start line/corral. With the gun going off at 7:00am, what time do you suggest showing up?

This may be a silly question but any input would be greatly appreciate. Thank you…

Hi Patrick! I believe that you really can’t get to a start early enough especially for stretching and bathrooms. Last year we were at the start about an hour in advance and this gave us plenty of time to stretch, do a warm up lap, get water, and use the bathroom. Just make sure you pack warm throwaway clothes!

I just read your post “Marathon Training and CrossFit” and found it really inspiring, thank you! I’m training for my first marathon (the Marine Corps Marathon in October), and I need to work on my overall strength; especially my core. I loved your outlook to CrossFit + Training, and I’m looking forward to implementing some of your suggestions. Thank you for sharing!
